The confirmation of the four strong men that qualified Ghana for the 2022 world cup came as no surprise to many Ghanaians. Christopher Houghton, Otto Addo, George Boateng, and Mas’ud Didi Dramani will lead the Black Stars in the world cup campaign in Qatar. The former Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle Boss will maintain his role as the technical advisor. Despite rumours that Chris had withdrawn from the team, news coming in suggest that he will play an active role in the AFCON qualifiers and the world cup.
Otto Addo will be the head coach for the team. The Borussia Dortmund assistant said he had permission from his club to once again help the national team qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations and also at the world cup. The former Ghana international will be ably assisted by Aston Villa’s assistant coach, George Boateng and Mas’ud Didi Dramani.
The strong four displayed their brilliance during the playoffs against fellow West African neighbours, Nigeria. Tactically and technically, they had their decisions right and it is important to maintain a winning team.
The Black Stars will play Madagascar on 1st June against Madagascar and play Central African Republic four days later and play Angola on June 23rd. Ghana is in the same group with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea. The four time African Champions reached the quarter finals at the 2010 world cup in South Africa and will be hoping to improve on that performance. Can the brilliance of these men help Ghana reach the semi-finals at Qatar?
