Ghanaian musicians, Amaarae, KiDi, and Gyakie have been nominated for this year’s Headies.
This was made known after the list of nominees for this year’s awards was released on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.
They were nominated for the BEST WEST AFRICAN ARTISTE OF THE YEAR and the winner will have to beat Angelique Kidjo from Benin, Aya Nakamura from Mali, and Nelson Freitas from Cape Verde.
The three Ghanaian musicians recently won awards at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Awards (VGMA). On the part of KiDi, he won the ultimate and biggest award for the night, the Artiste of the Year, and winning this award will be an icing on the cake for him.
In other news, KiDi’s label mate, Kuami Eugene has made it known that there are some of his lookalikes who come to his label headquarters to see him.
He had this submission in a recent interview on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM. He said;
“With the lookalikes, if they are having fun with it, then it’s all good. But they shouldn’t go charging people trying to act like us.
My lookalikes come to Lynx headquarters just to see me —and they are many. I even met one last night.
Impersonating is cool sometimes but when they are charging for it, then it is illegal.”
