Ghana is currently on the market looking for a coach ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup later this year.

The Black Stars qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup last month after posting a spirited performance against West African rivals, Nigeria. The Black Stars of Ghana had already qualified for three consecutive World Cups in Germany 2006, South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014. Their first appearance was a round 16 finish with the better outing in 2010 on African soil where they reached the Quarter finals. Their last appearance was however a poor spectacle to behold after exiting at the group stage of the competition.

The nation failed to qualify for the 2018 edition in Russia but made up for that error to book a place in Qatar later this year. Ghana had a new look Technical team led by German trained, Otto Addo with former Newcastle United manager, Chris Hughton as they Technical Advisor. Ex-Dutch international, George Boateng and former Kotoko coach, Mas Ud Didi Dramani supported as assistants. Under the new look technical team, Ghana were held to a goalless draw by Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium on March 25.

The reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola Stadium four days later produced a 1-1 score after full time with Thomas Partey scoring for Ghana and William Troost-Ekong equalizing from the spot for the Super Eagles. Ghana progressed to the finals in Qatar on the away goal rule but the Black Stars have no coach at the moment with the two game contract ended for the four man Technical team. Otto Addo has returned to his base with Dortmund with the other three also leaving their post.
