Seasoned Journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. is appalled by statements that go to say God is behind the President of Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his adminstration of Ghana.
Speaking in relation to the passage of the E-Levy Bill, Mr. Pratt made reference to utterances by some people with ties to the governing New Patriotic Party who tend to say the President’s actions are backed by God.
To him, those people should stop making such statements stressing, “God doesn’t hold a party card”.
Making his submissions on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ programme, Mr. Pratt said; “If you say that, it looks like God is partisan. Like God is holding NPP card, but you know very well that God doesn’t hold a party card.”
He also shared his disagreements with the E-levy to take effect in May this year.
To him, the way the policy has been arranged, it will be a burden to less privileged Ghanaians.
He recounted how people struggle to get Ghc 100 or more and then the government wants to charge them on their electronic transactions.
Mr. Pratt wondered why the road tolls have been cancelled because, to him, ”nobody complained about the road tolls. The only complaint people made was that collecting 1 cedi as toll was a small amount and so called for it to be increased”.
The seasoned Journalist believed the ordinary Ghanaian will be at a huge disadvantage with this E-levy policy.
