As Ghana comes up against Nigeria, it is the sole ambition of the former to beat the latter and make it to the global tournament. Ghana looks at putting proper measures in place to get their way over Nigeria. It is as part of those efforts that football officials in Ghana have opted to hold tight the list of players that have been invited to participate in the World Cup qualifier.
In as much as officials are making moves to not release the list, Black Stars of Ghana will require the services of experienced players to be able to do away with their neighbors.
If not for anything, experienced players have what it takes to be able to lead the charge for Ghana. The number of years spent in garnering those exposure cannot be swept under the carpet.
Experienced players have played at the highest level, which has given them enough idea as to how to play some of these crucial matches.
Already, names such as Sulley Ali Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng are rumored to have earned a call up from coach Otto Addo and his assistants. Other reputable names have also been mentioned in the local media.
Having represented Ghana in previous World Cup, the likes of Sulley Ali Muntari has what it takes to play against the Super Green Eagles of Nigeria. They have played against Nigeria in some Africa Cup of Nations and have acquired what it means to go head to head with them.
It is extremely important to have some of these names in the list to be able to enrich the squad and get the best results at the end of the two matches.
Another name that has come up in the local media is the goalkeeper Richard Ofori. His return makes a great addition such that, he has been the favorite goalkeeper before a long term injury. The injury ruled him out of the Africa Cup of Nations. But for the injury, the former WA All Stars goalkeeper will have had the opportunity to keep the goal post for the Senior National team. Having played for Ghana for years, his inclusion can only be termed as timing and prudent for the team.
These and other seasoned players must be brought on board to ensure the team is enriched in all departments. A blend of new and experienced players is critical for the survival of any good team, of which Ghana is not exempted.
The technical department must by now have a foreknowledge of how relevant it is to weave a team with the mix of experienced and inexperienced players.
