According to Ghana Police Service, seven suspect drivers who arrested yesterday by the Police in Accra were put before the La Magistrate Court today, Wednesday, December 8, 2021. The drivers were seen flouting the Road Traffic Regulations during a special exercise by the Police
Five out of the seven suspects were present and put before the court today. The court sentenced four out these five drivers to pay a fine of One thousand eight hundred Ghana cedis each or in default serve 3 months prison terms. The four convicted drivers immediately paid their respective fines. However, the fifth driver signed a bond to be of good behaviour for three months or in default serve three months in prison.
The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso Constituency, Hon. Dr. Stephen Amoah who was also part of the drivers who flouted the Road Traffic Regulations yesterday failed to show up in court today. Another driver who failed to appear before the court was Mr. Samuel Anim. In view of this, the court has issued a warrant for the arrest the Nhyiaeso MP and Mr. Samuel Anim.
