AS Roma returned to Italian Serie A football action yesterday as they travelled to face Genoa at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in what was their 13th game of the competition this season. The Italian side tutored by Jose Mourinho were looking to make up for their bad runs in the competition by defeating Genoa in order to finally gain maximum points.
The first half was an open game as both sides were at the front foot looking to create some goalscoring chances in order to find the opener. AS Roma and Genoa couldn’t score a goal in the first half of the match as they settled for a goalless draw at halftime.
Things didn’t really change at the start of the second half as both sides were still finding it difficult to penetrate each other’s defense. The breakthrough came in the 82nd minute of the match as AS Roma opened the scoring through a brilliant strike from Felix Ohene Afena-Gyan to make the scoreline 1-0. Felix Ohene Afena-Gyan scored an absolute screamer from outside the box in the closing minutes of the match to make the final scoreline 2-0 in favor of AS Roma.
The Ghanaian Youngster was a big hero for AS Roma in the match as he put up an astonishing performance despite playing just 16 minutes of football. The 18-year-old came clutch for AS Roma as he singlehandedly gave them an important victory yesterday. All credits must be given to the promising talent for his outstanding display in the Serie A.
