A report culled from SeniorNG has it that a final year student of the University of Nigeria, Illorin, (UNILORIN) has physically assaulted his female lecturer.
The student identified simply as Captain Walz, a 400-level student of the Department of Microbiology, UNILORIN, was said to have visited his female lecturer’s office on Thursday, November 11. 2021 to seek her help because he didn’t observe the compulsory Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).
The report from the Nigerian website further added that the lecturer refused to help Walz which got him furious and consequently attacked her. The female Lecturer, Mrs Zakariya was subsequently rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Confirming the incident, the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun told Daily Trust that the lecturer is now in a stable condition. He further went ahead to reveal that the Vice Chancellor visited her in company of some Deans and other University Staff.
The Director also informed the newsmen that the Vice Chancellor of the university ordered that the victim be treated on the bill of the institution.
