Portugal and Ronaldo traveled to Ireland with the hopes of securing all three points to go two points clear at the top of the table in their World Cup qualifying group.
But after 90 minutes, they had to settle for one point which was also enough to get them top of the table as they now sit on top of Serbia level on points with better goal difference.
The 0-0 draw and Ronaldo’s performance was nothing to write home about. Unlike their first encounter where we had a dramatic and historic match.
Maybe because Ronaldo has consistently given us match winning performances, we were expecting another masterclass. But unfortunately, it was one of those days for the legend.

By his standards, very disappointing.
The One Positive
For me, the only positive thing about that match happened after the 90 minutes, when a young girl invaded the pitch to catch a moment with the Icon, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is a man so blessed, he’s loved by many. This little girl must have dreamt of a moment where she would hug and touch arguably the greatest player of all time and her dream was fulfilled yesterday.
Cristiano Ronaldo gave her his shirt, hugged her and made her dream come true. For me that was enough entertainment. So emotional, I forgot about the entire 90 minutes of football that failed to live up to my expectations.
