John Mahama tonight completed his tour of the country. It can be recalled that months ago, the President started a thank you tour to show his appreciation to Ghanaians for voting massively for him in the 2020 election. The tour saw the former president tour selected areas in all 16 regions. Tonight’s thank Ghana address was to wind up the tour.
The address saw John Mahama touched on a number of issues ranging to misconceptions carried by Vice President during his digitalization speech to issues regarding the economy, fuel increases, unemployment and corruption of the President Akufo-Addo government. He explained that with the economy failing, economic messiahs have metamorphosed into digital champions.
Former President Mahama promised a free and fair system where the President will accord due respect to all chiefs from different regions. He maintained that a simple request from a chief to a minister shouldn’t have been treated shabbily like it was done by president Akufo-Addo. He challenged the Akufo-Addo government to be accountable to the citizens and improve the living conditions of her citizens. He promised the chiefs of the Volta region that the coming NDC government will complete all left over project.
John Mahama also called on citizens to be bold and demand for accountability from leaders. he applauded the Catholic Bishops for being bold to criticize the government for the hardships in the country. “No amount of digital propaganda will take away the excruciating hardships Ghanaians are going through. This our country Ghana will be liberated” John Mahama said as he ended his speech
