Eddie Nketiah is “unhappy at Arsenal” and “ready to turn down a new deal if he does not get more playing time.”
According to the Daily Mail, Eddie Nketiah is “unhappy at Arsenal and likely to turn down a new contract if he is not given more playing time.”
EDDIE NKETIAH is rumored to be ‘unhappy’ at Arsenal.
And it’s been reported that he’ll turn down a new contract if he doesn’t get more playing time.
The Arsenal youth product scored his team’s second goal in a 2-0 League Cup victory over Leeds on Tuesday night.
But it was only his second appearance of the season, with the first coming in the previous round against AFC Wimbledon.
This season, Nketiah, 22, has yet to be named on Mikel Arteta’s nine-man Premier League bench.
And now that he isn’t playing European football, he has even less options.
His current contract with the team is set to expire at the end of this season.
According to Ekrem Konur, the Gunners aim to offer him a new three-year contract.

Nketiah, on the other hand, is unhappy with his lack of playing time and will only join if he believes he will get continuous playing time.
Crystal Palace tried to sign the striker for £12 million in August.
However, due to personal reasons, the move was canceled.
After the game on Tuesday night, Arteta said: “I am confidence in his ability to deliver.
“Whatever you throw at him, he raises the bar, and I’m ecstatic to watch his performance and for him to score the goal and assist the team, because he fully deserves it.
“But there are a lot of folks in his position, and he has a personal difficulty [since his contract is about to expire], but I try to put that aside and focus on [rewarding him]because he deserves it.”
I am confident that he will blossom into a terrific player, ideally for Arsenal.
In response to a question on Nketiah’s future, he went on to say: “Yes, but we had a problem during the summer that we tried but couldn’t solve.
“As indicated by our experience with Covid and the other issues we encounter, the contract scenario is becoming more common in football.
“I am confident that he will develop into a good player, hopefully at Arsenal,” says the manager.
He continued, saying: “I’m delighted to have him aboard. He’s our player, and I admire him greatly, so I’d like to see him stay.” Nketiah has made 67 first-team appearances for his boyhood club, scoring 15 goals, since making his debut in 2017 under Arsene Wenger.
