Inspector-General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare has carved a name for himself for raising the bar high by how he changed the fortune of the Police Service within this short period of time. Dampare has rebranded the Police Service, giving it an image the inspires hope in the Ghanaian population. But the question many ask is, can Dampare sustain how the momentum and make anyone, irrespective of their political, ethnic, and status in society face the law if they are found culpable? Amidst the endless admiration he gets from Ghanaians for clamping down top-notch individuals who break the laws, conservative Ghanaians, watch with keen eyes to see his reaction when a key member of the governing New Patriotic Party breaks the laws.
The United States of America based Ghanaian journalist, Kelvin Taylor, speaking on his Loud Silence Show, has therefore mounted pressure on the Inspector General of Police to arrest Kennedy Agyapong the moment he steps foot in Ghana for an allegation he made about the Inspector General of Police in connection with the murder of JB Danquah. The Assin Central legislator, in an interview with the Announcer Newspaper, hosted by Daddy Fred alleged that the prime suspect, Daniel Asiedu in the case disclosed the names of the politicians who murdered JB Danquah to Dampare. Kennedy Agyapong, therefore, challenged Dampare to disclose those names.
It is at the back of this that, the social activist, Kelvin Taylor, who admitted to having lots of respect for Dampare, said, if he ( Dampare) wants to cement his name as someone who is not selective in his approach to combat crime should apprehend Kennedy Agyapong to make him provide evidence that may help facilitate the process of the case. He concluded by saying, he shall disclose the who Dampare really is, if he fails to arrest Kennedy Agyapong.
