Manchester United resumed their winning way by defeating Tottenham 3-0 after last week’s embarrassment in the hands of their bitter rivals Liverpool who smashed them five goals (5-0). Though this was meant to relieve some pressure from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who was facing sack verdict from the Manchester hierarchy.
It was a must win game for Manchester United who had gone more than four Premier league games without a win. Thus the win over Tottenham was to to improve atmosphere around Manchester United dressing room relations.
During the match,the star who stole the show for himself was none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, he scored one goal and provided one assist which saw Edinson Cavani score the second goal before the substitute (Marcus Rushford) secure the whole three points for his side.
Though Ronaldo’s goal got a lot of attention from both the during the day pundits, fans and other football lovers. However, one of those who did not believe the goal was Tottenham goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris who said the goal was unbelievable. And only the few players can score from such a tight angle. He said this after watching the reply of the goal. He applauded Ronaldo’s effort after the match.
This season Ronaldo has 11 goals in all competitions at the age of 36 years. This is unreal start in the life of EPL which is believed to be the toughest and most physical league in the world. Ronald is arguably the best player in the world with Messi only his close competitor. The goal output for Ronaldo is not a problem, he is more of a poacher or clutch player to have graced the history of football.
