Another kidnapping case has hit Takoradi after weeks and months of anxiety from Ghanaians over two kidnaps that was faked by two women, Josephine Panyin Mensah and Joana Krah whereby the later has been sentenced to 6 years in prison.
The name of the alleged victim of the kidnap is Stephanie Kumiwaa who is 26 years of age.
The boyfriend of the victim known as Stephen Kumi reported the case to the police after the kidnappers demanded for 2,000 Ghana cedis from him as ransom but was only able to pay half of the amount which is 1,000 Ghana cedis.
After the payment of the 1,000 cedis, Stephen Kumi says he has not heard from the kidnappers for over a week and therefore had to report the case to the police.
Stephen Kumi who spoke to Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson on the Omanbapa show of Connect Fm said that the last time he heard from Josephine herself was on October 17.
That the victim told him she would visit him after church but she never showed up only to be called by the kidnappers that Stephanie has been kidnapped and he should pay 2,000 Ghana cedis or else she would be raped and used for rituals.
Stephen continued that he and Sandra, a friend of Stephanie were able to contribute 1,000 cedis after some days and sent it through Stephanie’s phone but the kidnappers still demanded for 2,000 cedis in addition to the 1,000 they had already sent.
At this stage, Stephen Kumi reported the case to the police at Mpohor and also the Assembly member of the town. Stephanie has still not been found.
