1. Cristiano Ronaldo.
After United’s 5-0 loss to Liverpool last week, Cristiano Ronaldo really turned up for today’s game against Tottenham Hotspur at the London Stadium. Right from the kickoff whistle the Portuguese was United’s main threat in front of goal. Scored the opener from a Bruno Fernandes pass and what a goal that was.
2. Scott Mctominay.
Mctominay was very poor against Liverpool last Sunday and it was all down to the lack of understanding between him and Fred. Against Tottenham today, Mctominay looked class and was at the heart of everything good for Manchester United. Protected the defence very well all game.
3. Raphael Varane.
Since the first two players in this category were picked from the attack and midfield respectively, we’ve decided to go with a defender for the third spot. Varane missed the game against Liverpool last week and United’s defence was in shambles, today he played and the defence looked a lot different from the one that played against the Reds at Old Trafford. Yes, Tottenham are not on the same level as Liverpool but still, United’s defence deserves credit for today’s performance at the London Stadium.
Worst Players:
1. Lucas Moura.
Everything the Brazilian tried against Manchester United did not work out for him and his team. Was taken off for Bergwijn after 56 minutes.
2. Dele Alli.
Dele Alli failed to inspire Tottenham in today’s game against Manchester United. Well, we are not surprised, that has been the story of his season for the past few weeks.
3. Harry Kane.
Was very poor in today’s game against Manchester United. Kane started off brightly but tailed off as United took control of the contest. Is his decision to stay at Tottenham rather than move to Manchester City coming back to hunt him?
