Today, Kweku Anan continued with his series on “Epistle of Africa, A failed continents” on his Ghana Speaks segment. He stated that one of Africa’s greatest problems was “sleep”. He explained that African liked sleeping a lot. He played a video of an African leader confirming that fact in a UN meeting. He lamented on how Africans generate a strange pleasure whenever Friday draws near as their work ends on Friday. He named three common things that occurred in all African countries during the weekends; chilling, funerals, and church-going.
He compared and contrasted African countries with European countries and cited the ingenious manufacturing of the iPhone 13 as an example. He stated emphatically that churchgoing was one of the unproductive activities in Africa. He later lamented how Africans pride themselves on the celebrations of funerals. He disclosed how African families neglected their own relatives while they are alive and spend whooping sums of money when that same relative dies. He wondered if Ghana would ever have a president who will wise up and ban funerals forever. He later sent a message to Nana Addo to ban funerals and wake keepings.
