France is beginning a historic trial today over the deadly Paris attacks.
The 2015 attacks allegedly left 130 people dead. The shooting and bombing assault was reportedly carried out by Islamist State (IS) group extremists.
The attacks were considered the worst post-World War Two atrocity in France.
Appearing in court today is the only surviving attacker, Salah Abdeslam, according to a report monitored by African Entertainment in the AFP.
At least 13 defendants will be in court. A purpose-built facility in Paris is where the trial is taking place.
The trial is to last for nine months and reports say there will be 140 days of hearings involving about 330 lawyers and 1,800 civil plaintiffs.
Some 300 witnesses will be heard, including survivors and François Hollande, who was the French president at the time of the attacks.
