The new President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, has begun appointing his Cabinet ministers.
Mr Hichilema, who defeated former President Edgar Lungu by more than two million votes to become the seventh President of Zambia, announced on Twitter that his first cabinet appointment is the country’s Finance Minister.
He tweeted: “Good morning beloved citizens, we are doing things in a phased and coordinated manner that will yield positive results. My first Cabinet appointment is the Minister of Finance this morning. I shall keep you updated as we progress.”
