Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been eliminated by Berekum Chelsea in the MTN FA Cup. The Porcupine Royals were dominant at the first half of the game. They created a lot of chances but they were denied by the Chelsea goalie. Fabio Gama came close to scoring at the 38th minute of the game.
The Blues were also hopeful of an early goal but the defenders of the Fabulous kept their attackers at bay.Chelsea captain Edward Okpodo came very close of scoring but his shot was deflected.
Chelsea created a lot of chances at the early stages of the second half in the quest of getting the opener but it did not worked out.Solomon Sarfo Taylor made an attempt to strike from distance but Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Ernest Sowah was at hand to pick it up.
The game eventually ended 0-0 after extra time.During the penalty shootout, Chelsea converted all spot kicks, whiles Kotoko defender Wahab Adams missed the fourth kick to give the blues the massive victory. Berekum Chelsea will now join Hearts of Oak, Medeama and AshantiGold in the last four of the competition.
