Mother of the 2-year-old boy Kwaku Ernest, Madam Vida Asieduaa has disclosed that she watched on helplessly as her son was burning into ashes after a fuel tanker exploded at Nyina Nofo a farming community in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region.
Three (3) persons were killed after a fuel tanker from Kumasi to Tepa involved in an accident and exploded at Nyina Nofo.
The victims are the tanker driver and his yet to be identified including the 2-year-old boy Kwaku Ernest.
Madam Vida Asieduaa speaking in an interview Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo said “I left my son (deceased) and his father who is suffering from stroke and I went to farm”.
According to Madam Vida Asieduaa “I heard the community members wailing while others were running for their lives.
“I realized that there is a fire outbreak in the community and I couldn’t come near the fire to save my husband and my son. After the incident I was told someone went to our house and saved my husband but the person was not aware that my son was in the room” She said.
She explained that “My son tried to leave the room because of the heat but he fell down and he couldn’t wake up till he got burnt beyond recognition”
Over 15 houses were burnt leaving about 150 people displaced while properties worth thousands of cedis destroyed.
