The Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, DCOP Ayensu Opare Addo, was allegedly handcuffed and forced out of his office by people he claimed belongs to the Delta Force Vigilante group.
The Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah has disclosed on Okay FM that there is no group in the Ashanti region known as Delta Force.
Simon Osei-Mensah made this statement on ‘Ade Akye Abia’ on Okay FM this morning, 18th May 2021, when he gave his opinion on the alleged handcuff and removal of DCOP Ayensu Opare Addo from office by members of the Delta Force.
According to him, the laws of Ghana bans any vigilante group in the country, and the Delta Force he knew about has been disbanded.
“In the first place, the Ashanti region has no Delta Force because it is illegal. So, if anybody is saying otherwise, then they should tell me where they are so that I can apprehend them.” He told Kwame Nkrumah Tikese.
He said that it is illegal to have a vigilante group unless this Delta Force is a new kind of Delta Force Which he does not know.
He added that if anybody knows the whereabouts of this Delta Force, they should kindly bring him the information for him to arrest them because they are operating illegally.
