Ghana’s latest university which is in the name of Akenken Appiah Menka University Of Skills Training And Entrepreneurial Development has made a visit to the king of the Asante Kingdom in Ghana. The visitation was done by the governing council of the university as well as some staffs of the university.
Otumfour was very pleased to have them and congratulated the school’s management for a hard work done so far. Management if the school briefed the king about the current state of the university. According to Otumfour, it has always been his dream for the Kumasi and Mampong campus of the university to be an autonomous and finally, it has happened.
Meanwhile, he charged the University leadership to unite and work very hard so that the Ghanaian youth can develop relevant competencies to work in the world of work and establish their own businesses. The King said that would change the unfortunate situation where students completed school only to chase hardly available employment opportunities.
The new university is aimed at training teachers in the technical and vocational field.
