The Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso Boakye, has paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as part of his three-day working tour of the Ashanti Region.
The Minister visited the Manhyia Palace today, Wednesday, May 5, 2021.
Mr. Asenso Boakye was accompanied by other officials of the Ministry of Works and Housing.
The visit was to afford the Minister the opportunity to brief the Otumfuo on projects the government is undertaking, through his ministry, in the region.
The Bantama lawmaker, in his brief remarks, expressed appreciation on behalf of the government to the Asantehene for his kind gesture of donating a 200-acre piece of land, to support the government’s affordable housing project at Dedesua in the Ashanti region.
According to him, the project remains a priority of the government to ensure that homes are made accessible to the majority of Ghanaians.
The Otumfuo, in his welcome address, also wished the Minister well and urged him to ensure the smooth completion of the project.
Mr. Asenso Boakye is on a three-day working visit to the region to inspect ongoing projects under his ministry.
It is also to afford him first-hand knowledge of the drainage challenges facing the region ahead of the rainy season.
