The Airport in the Volta Regional capital Ho has finally been opened yesterday 15 April 2021, after almost 6 years of construction. The first flight from the news-opened airport flew to the Capital Accra amidst funfair and jubilations. The construction of the Airport which began under former President John Dramani Mahama was met with backlash by the then opposition is set to boost tourism in the Volta region. The commissioning of the Airport was officially done by Africa World Airline (AWA) when the company launched its flight from the airport to Accra.
