AshGold head coach, Romain Folz, has revealed that improving the team’s defence will be his main preoccupation for the rest of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Folz supervised the Miners’ 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak in Week 19 of the campaign and the result moved them to 9th on the league table with 26 points.
The result was secured after Amos Addai scored a 92nd minute penalty and the goal was the 29th scored by the team in 19 matches.
However, the Miners have leaked 25 goals in the same number of matches and for Falz, that aspect of the team will get more of his attention and he will work to make it better ahead in upcoming matches.
“What we need to do to get better in this league is to be better in defence and we did that against Hearts of Oak. That is going to be my focus for the rest of the season.
We have good offensive quality and I do not doubt that but that if we can be better than other teams defensively, it will take us to a good place.”
Up next for Falz and AshGold are matches against King Faisal (away) and Bechem United (home) in their final matches for the month of April.
