The Director of Electoral Services at the Electoral Commission, Dr Serebour Quaicoe says that the proper structures put together at the commission make it easier for anyone at the helm of affairs to deliver credible elections.
“I have been working at the Electoral Commission for the past 26 years so I’m not new to partaking in elections. Proper structures have been put together at the commission so it doesn’t matter who is at the helm of affairs at any point in time.”
Dr Serebour Quaicoe disclosed to Amansan Krakye on Kastle FM monitored by MyNews that should everything go according to plan, the commission will announce the results of the election before 24hours after the close of polls.
He remarked “If you’ve followed elections you’d realize that by 7pm most of the polling stations would have declared their results.
He added: “If that’s the case then it’s left with how the results will be collated at the constituency level. So we’ve thought about it and we’ve had series of meetings to put measures onboard.
“We hope and believe that if nothing untoward happens we can even declare the results before 24 hours after the close of polls,” he said on Kastle Drive.
