The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Augustus Nana Akwasi has cautioned supporters of the party to desist from attacking the flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
According to Augustus Nana Akwasi, even if the former first lady endorsed a different Political party, NDC party members shouldn’t go after her in anger.
Speaking on Abusua Fm Morning Shows hosted by Kwadwo Marfo monitored by MyNews, Augustus Nana Akwasi explained that ‘Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has every right to endorse any Political party though she is the wife of our founder Late Jerry John Rawlings, it doesn’t prevent her from endorsing different Political party”.
“NDC party respects women that’s why former President John Dramani Mahama appointed a woman as his running mate. Very soon Ghana will have a woman as Vice President. This shows the kind of respect NDC has women” He argued.
Nana Akwasi added that “We are focused and we have huge task ahead. Our task is to propagate the good policies in the NDC’s manifesto to Ghanaians till John Dramani Mahama becomes the next president of Ghana. We shouldn’t allow our attention to be diverted. Let’s stay focused”
“Even if Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings endorses different Political party, she is still the wife of our Founder late Jerry John Rawlings and we must accord her wife necessary respect no matter her differences with the NDC party”.
Chairman Nana Akwasi added that John Dramani Mahama has been ordained by God to be the next president of Ghana to save Ghanaians from hardship under President Akufo-Addo’s government.
He appealed to Ghanaians especially Asanteman to reward John Dramani Mahama with their votes.
