For the sake of peace and tranquility in the country, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is ready to accept the outcome of the December 7 elections likely or in the unlikely event he poll does not go in his favour as expected.
“We met and have had a lot of deliberations and he assured us that the four-year mandate Ghanaians have given him as President will not go beyond a minute or a day”, Ashanti Regional Council of State Representative, Nana Owusu Achew Brempong disclosed.
Speaking on a local radio station in Kumasi monitored by MyNews Kwabena Danso-Dapaah, the chief of Akrofoso stated several engagements have gone on between the President and members of Council State ahead of the coming polls.
“Every one knows he [President] is outstanding, good Lawyer and law abiding. He doesn’t want to be in power forever. After all, his father once became President and he too is a President now so he will be ready to go … And he is prepared to leave office anytime”, the Presidential Advisor said.
According to the Ashanti Regional Council of State Member, he though, he does not want to sound like political due to his role as advisor to the President and Chief as well.
“I don’t want to sound like a campaigning but when Nana Addo is a President, I like it and when Mahama is a like it, …PNC and the rest they all qualify”, Nana Owusu Achew Brempong said
The disclosure comes after Ghana Election Poll which ran online from July 1 to August 1, 2020, via the renowned market research firm MSI-ACI put National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s flagbearer, John Mahama ahead of President Akufo-Addo in a few months to generate elections.
According to the survey conducted, 33% of qualified Ghanaian adult voters out of the weighted sample of 2,055 would vote for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo while 62% would vote for the John Dramani Mahama. Five percent of the respondents would vote for “other candidates”.
