Former Deputy Communication Minister under the John Mahama led administration, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has described the NPP’s 2020 campaign as the lousiest campaign to be run by the New Patriotic Party.
According to him, it’s a shame that as a government in power, the NPP has resorted to implementing ideas stipulated in the manifesto.
He made this known when he spoke on Accra-based Asempa FM monitored by MyNews.
The Parliamentary Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said the New Patriotic Party condemned John Dramani Mahama’s promise to legalize OKADA business describing it as a populist promise but has since made a U-turn on their stance on the legalization of OKADA business in Ghana.
“This has been the lousiest campaign of the NPP. A sitting government that is currently implementing campaign promises of the opposition. The are confused. It is the lousiest campaign ever. The NPP manifesto what was the best ticket item there.”
“They have just done a calculation and have seen that all those votes [Okada and Spare Parts dealers] are going to John Mahama so they have suspended the very law they insist is the best and claim to be consulting on the legalization of OKADA.”
“So if I say it’s the lousiest campaign, I mean they have accepted the fact that their performance wasn’t the best and they admit that their manifesto isn’t the best for the people of Ghana so they have resorted to ours which is the best. They say imitation is the best form of flattery. If you learn from someone, it is an indication that the person is doing a good job. So they should get their campaign back on track and stop Mustapaha Hamid’s unnecessary Press Conferences because it will not change anybody’s mind.”
