On August 16, 2020, Joseph Kwame Addison who is popularly known as King Promise celebrated his birthday. King Promise is a highlife music artiste in Ghana and has won the hearts of many Ghanaians with his soulful music. Some of his hit songs include Sisa, Bra featured Kojo Antwi and CCTV; his very first hit song which earned him a collaboration with King Sark himself and Mugeez of the R2bees group.He also managed to get the video of his hit song ‘Abena’ shot in Euroupe. He is now twenty-four years old being born in 1994. Most artiste do not easily make it in the industry at such a tender age of their 20s but he has made it this far with a current net worth of $50,000.
He had his primary and part of his secondary education in Saint Anthony Academy in Accra. He later transferred to the Nungua Senior High School where he got his senior school certificate. King Promise then went on to the Central University of Ghana in 2017 and graduated with a degree in Economics and Information Studies.
Why music? He claims that he loves music in every way and just wants to create good music. The young talented artiste is not just thriving in the genre of highlife music, but also in various afro-pop genre as well as hip-pop music. In October 2019, King Promise was nominated in the African Artiste Recognition category; a non-Nigerian award category for an African artiste or group with the most outstanding achievement, impact and infiltration into the Nigerian music scene. In addition, his song CCTV was nominated for the category for ‘Highlife Song of the Year’, and his song with Medikal, ‘Ayekoo’ for Hiplife song of the year.
