Some members of the National Chapters Council of Accra Hearts of Oak have met Joseph Esso at the funeral grounds of Benjamin Afutu’s mother to discuss a possible change in mind of the attacker’s departure.
Accra Hearts of Oak on Friday 7th August 2020 announced it has parted ways with Joseph Esso on grounds of disagreement on his next contract renewal but it hasn’t gone down well with its national supporters’ union, NCC.
The PRO of the NNC, Kobby Jones told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM in its next meeting it will discuss the controversial exit of the 23-year-old forward.
“There is no action without reaction. Esso’s contract extension issue started long ago. I can’t blame Joseph Esso for demanding huge money”, he said.
“The departure of Joseph Esso is unfortunate for us because he’s our talisman. I’m telling you there is no Hearts of Oak supporter who is happy with that decision to release Esso. The NCC will meet and when we meet, we’ll look at it”, he added.
The former Ebusua Dwarfs striker seems dissatisfied leaving Hearts of Oak and at the funeral of Afutu’s mother on Saturday, he was seen in a conversation with the NCC members on the matter.
It remains to be seen if there will be a backtrack in the decision and what comes out of the meeting.
