Security Analyst, Adam Bonah says he expects the President of Ghana to sack his Minister for Special Development, Mavis Hawa Koomson for firing warning shots at a Registration Center in the Awautu Senya East Constituency.
The Member of Parliament(MP) for Awutu Senya East, Hawa Koomson Monday admitted on National Television that she fired gunshots at a Registration Center in her Constituency.
According to her, her opponent Naa Koryoo Okunor, brought in some heavily built men to scare people at the Registration center so in order to ensure the safety of her Constituents, she fired gun shots to disperse the men brought in the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidate.
Reacting to the lawmaker’s admission of taking a gun to a Registration Center on Accra-based TV3 monitored by MyNews, Security Analyst, Adam Bonah said it’s imperative that the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo sacks the Minister for disgracing his government.
“It’s a shame. I expecting and praying that the President… I think there’s going to be cabinet…The President will fire her straight away. She’s a disgrace to her colleagues in Parliament, she’s a disgrace to the executive.
For a member of Parliament to carry with her a side gun, …You know, a barrel to a polling center that’s supposed to be simple I mean and I’m expecting that…A Minister of State will have a bodyguard so If you’re moving into a public your bodyguard is supposed to protect you. If this bodyguard had admitted that I fired, we would have weighed the threats and look at what had happened and say that I need to protect this lady’s life so let me fire some warning shots to ensure that she does not come under attack.
But for her to come out and say I fired to scare them, I would say it’s a shame. Probably she’s not fit to be a Member of Parliament and be part of the Executive per her own admission”
