The Director Elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, says the people of Ghana are sick and tired of the corrupt ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and will, therefore, show them the exit in December.
Speaking on the alleged over bloated number of registrants in some constituencies, particularly in the Ashanti region, Mr. Afriyie Ankrah said “They can do whatever they want. The people of Ghana won’t change, they are sick and tired of this corrupt government, they are tired of the arrogance, they are tired of the greed, they are tired of the nepotism. The people of Ghana will show them [NPP] the exit.”
He emphasized in the interview on Accra-based Joy Fm monitored by MyNews that “we are going to be vigilant and alert on a daily basis. The same way we discovered the figures in other constituencies in the same way.
“If any things happen, we have the capacity, we have the system in place and we will check and expose them”.
The former Minister of Youth and Sports was surprised the NPP kept quiet when they saw the over bloated figures because it favored them.
“Is it because it favored them so they kept quite? They should tell us…the whole world is listening to them [NPP] . When a registration is going on and you have as much as 20,000 figures added to one constituency and you keep quiet and we are the ones that have drawn your attention to it”, he pointed out.
“And the EC has come to confirm the figures were over bloated; between the two of us who is credible, I don’t know what he is talking about, he stressed.
He stressed,” so you targeted Ketu South, that is why you sent soldiers there, beat innocent people, so people will be scared so that they won’t come out and register.”
