Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama says the lack of a cohesive plan to fight COVID-19 has brought about the increased number of infections in the country.
According to him, a cohesive plan will not have brought the country to where it is with the fight against COVID-19.
The former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama made this known when he spoke to the leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) in Accra on Wednesday.
He noted that government’s response to the pandemic has nothing to do with science but considerations for its own parochial interest.
The former President spoke about the NDC’s significant contribution to the health sector which has been very contributory to the fight against COVID-19 but promised more of such developments when given the power in 2021.
Mr. Mahama said despite making significant contributions to the health sector, the next government of the NDC will continue to make the health sector a major plank of its development agenda by providing more health facilities across the country and providing health workers with sustainable jobs.
