Former President John Agyekum Kufuor and his wife Theresa, who have been reportedly isolated over COVID-19 fears, have rather relocated to their new place of abode in Peduase, according to the spokesperson of the family, Kwabena Osei Adubofuor.
Mr Adubofuor in an interview emphasized that the former first couple’s movement had nothing to do with COVID-19 and that the couple was hale and hearty and had settled in comfortably in their new residence.
“Reports that the couple are in isolation over COVID-19 fears] not true…He [Kufuor] just moved to his new house at Peduase about three days ago and that’s where he lives now. There is nothing about COVID. He and his family are safe and in good condition,” he told Accra-based Angel FM.
His denial comes hours after several media outlets picked information that the couple had been exposed to the virus and were taking precautionary measures
Meanwhile the case count of COVID-19 continues to rise as health workers battle to contain it.
Latest figures put the total case count at 20,85 out of which 14,870 have been discharged.
