The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Friday, July 3, 2020, registered for his new voters’ Identification Card at Kperiga a suburb of Walewale in the East Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made this known through a Facebook post while encouraging Ghanaians to go out in their numbers to register for the ID Card.
The Vice President used the opportunity to call on Ghanaians to ensure that they adhere to the various safety protocols put in place by the Ghana Health Service to ensure safety.
His post on Facebook read “
This noon, I exercised my constitutional right to vote by registering for the national voter identity (I.D) card at the Kperiga D/A Primary School polling station in Walewale.
The process was very smooth and safe. The social distancing and other Covid-19 safety protocols put in place by the Electoral Commission at the polling station were also very encouraging.
We are in challenging times because of Covid-19, but I encourage you, patriotic citizens of mother Ghana, to take part in the registration exercise.
As we step out to register, let us continue to adhere strictly to all safety measures, including wearing our face masks and observing social distancing”.
