The New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Constituency of the Northern Region has been hit with another withdrawal from its suspended parliamentary primaries
This comes weeks after the incumbent Member of Parliament(MP), Dr. Ziblim Iddi withdrew from the race due to what he termed personal reasons over irreconcilable differences between him and the party’s hierarchy.
The latest to leave the race is Mahama Osman who believes that the political party will need someone neutral to take up the position as the Parliamentary Candidate.
In a letter to the General Secretary of New Patriotic Party(NPP), Mahama Osman said he has made a wider consultation and he believes withdrawing from the Primaries will serve the best interest of the New Patriotic Party.
He, used the opportunity to thank all individuals who have over the supported him and promised of his commitment to the Political Party in the constituency.
Gushegu is one of the few Constituencies that have their elections put on hold by Executives of the New Patriotic Party.
Announcing the decision, John Boadu who is the Political Party’s General Secretary said “Gushiegu constituency in the Northern region has been suspended till further notice”.
