The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it has suspended the June 20 Parliamentary Primaries in the Kwadaso Constituency and some others.
General Secretary, John Boadu John Boadu while speaking at a press conference to set out the modalities for the exercise said the suspension of the exercise in the Kwadaso Constituency was due to “issues with the album that we have not finished addressing” and so that constituency would not be part of the June 20 exercise.
He however named Vincent Oppong Manu, Dr Kingsley Nyarko and sitting MP, Hon. Dr S.K. Nuamah as persons who have been cleared by the National Executive Committee (NEC) to contest in the primary after the issue has been resolved.
Former MP, Josephine Hilda Addoh, who was seeking re-entry into Parliament on the back of the June 20 primaries, did not make the final list, confirming the earlier comments of Mr. F.F Anto, the 2nd National Vice Chairman of the party that she was disqualified over “bad behavior”.
In the Gushegu Constituency in the Northern Region and the Dormaa Central Constituency in the Bono Region, John Boadu said the exercise “has been suspended till further notice”.
“Very soon, after some programme has been put in place, we will announce the details for Dormaa Central Constituency and what needs to be done. I can assure you that the party is working so hard to ensure that there will be peace and harmony is these constituencies in order for us to get a candidate that all and sundry will accept”, John Boadu explained.
