One of the pioneers of Hiplife Music in Ghana, Barima Sidney born Sidney Kofi Ofori has surprisingly advised his colleague secular musicians to accept Jesus Christ in their lives to ensure eternal salvation.
He noted that there is no better advice to give to the youth than telling them about the goodness and mercies that abounds in our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
Speaking to Dr Spice in an interview on Kingdom FM in Cape Coast monitored by MyNewsGh, Barima Sidney was asked what advice he would give to the youth in order to avoid social vices.
He answered “The only advice I will give to anyone who is a musician and listening to me right now is that God is the answer and knowing Christ Jesus. No one is immune to the trials and tribulations of life.
“At a point in time or stage of life anything at all can happen to you but as for me I know the one who can save you when all hope is lost. It’s only one God who I know who saves and that is Jesus Christ.
“I will advise everyone to get closer to God in our youthful days apart from that nothing else. The one who you put your faith and trust in being your parents or siblings can disappoint you but only God can keep His word.
“What I want to say is that when you rely on your songs, money, porch cars and huge mansions, they will not last forever so they should seek Christ Jesus who will never fade away”, he advised.
Barima Sydney was a member of the music group called ‘Nananom’ way back in the 90’s before going solo to producer hit songs such as ‘our money’, ‘apuskeleke’, ‘tinana’, ‘paanoshew’, ‘scent no’, ‘obiaa ny3 obiaa’ among others.
