Dancehall artiste, Samini born Emmanuel Andrews Sammini has hailed the government’s handling of COVID-19.
According to him, in Africa, if Ghana is not the best at handling the deadly disease, it is one the best when it comes to managing COVID-19.
Samini who is currently stuck in Canada with his family noted that it is evident from the lower numbers that government was up to speed on issues with regards to the deadly disease.
Samini who was speaking to Andy Dosty in an interview on Accra-based Hitz FM said “I think, so far, across Africa, we are doing, if not the best, we are one of the best in managing COVID-19 pandemic”.
Samini noted that some colleague of his are mounting pressure on the government to end the ban placed on the country’s borders against human traffic but said that they should go easy on government because the pressure which government is under currently to prevent a hike in the imported cases is enormous.
“The moves by the government to close the borders is in good taste, no matter how much pressure my colleagues mount on the government it has prevented the possible hike in imported cases in the country. The pressure from his colleagues is not as strong as the one put on the government by the deadly implications of the COVID-19 pandemic”.
