The Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW)Constituency, John Dumelo says no one can use violence to intimidate the people in his Constituency in election 2020.
During the by-election that saw Lydia Alhassan becoming Member of Parliament, there was violence that led to the NDC withdrawing from the elections.
But speaking in an interview on Accra-based Adom FM, John Dumelo indicated that on December 7 no one can repeat what happened during the by-election when people were intimidated by hooligans and that prevented a number of people from exercising their rights.
He noted that the people of Ayawaso West Wuogon are now enlightened and will not be made to coil due to threats as was the case during the by-election.
“The people of Ayawaso West Wugon have learnt that they can resist any form of violence now so any individual who will use violence will be resisted.”
He said “The power of the people is the power of God” and that cannot be changed by man and the perpetuation of violence.
