With the dust yet to settle on the kidnapping of three teenagers in Takoradi, reports have emerged of another kidnapping in Tarkwa in also in the Western region.
Paulina Manu, the Headmistress of Tarkwa Senior High School has confirmed the kidnap of a first-year student on Wednesday to Joy News.
According to the headmistress who declined to go on record, said the girl obtained permission to go home but she never got there.
Joy News’ Western Region correspondent, Ina Thalia Quansah reports that the student is from the northern part of the country and living with a relation in Prestea also in the region.
Hours after she left, she called her brother in the north demanding some money. The baffled brother questioned what she needed it for because she sounded frantic.
She told him after she picked a taxi to go to Prestea, she was taken to a place she did not know by unknown persons and currently in a strange room.
Mrs Manu told the reporter that she has reported the incident to the Tarkwa police.
The Divisional Commander told Joy News’ they wouldn’t call it kidnapping for now and asked to be given time to investigate.
This latest incident comes at the back of the kidnapping of three teenagers whom the police say they are closing in on.
