Nominees for the 2019 for the maiden edition of the Gold Coast Ghana awards have been unveiled.
The nominees announcement was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
The awards according to the organizers is to imbue the spirit of excellence in Ghanaians.
Speaking to invited guests and the media present at the event to announce the nominees, the Chief Operations Officer (C.O.O.) of the awards, Mimi Andani-Michaels said it was necessary to recognize deserving Ghanaian brands as well as inspire future generations to aim higher.
She also explained that the criteria for settling on the nominees was based on their contribution to the growth of the county.
“As an entrepreneur, what is your contribution, how many people do you have in your company, what is your contribution towards the growth of the country Ghana? All of these in totality is what is called excellence and that is what we stand for,” she said.
“In March, we will crown the winners, we have various categories so many categories, we urge the media to support us for our first ever edition. As you all know, it is Gold Coast just so you let us all remember that being an entrepreneur or company is golden,” she added.
Also speaking at the event Mr. Prince Amatey, a software developer with Apps and Mobile Solutions; the company in charge of overseeing the voting process with their technology assured all and sundry that the voting process cannot be compromised to the advantage of any individual or group.
In narrating how the voting process works, Mr. Amatey explained that unlike the conventional voting by text process, interested participants can voted for an unlimited number of times at a go.
The short code for the voting process is *447*1957# for all networks.
In all a total of 30 and close to about 100 different categories were announced in areas such as Banking, real estate, sports, Media, Agriculture etc.
