Former President Jerry John Rawlings has broken his silence on the raging controversy about troubled gold dealership firm Menzgold, MyNews reports.
The name of the former military ruler has been captured among a tall list of persons said to have had their cash locked up with the company following its closure by the Securities and Exchanges Commission (SEC).
But Mr Rawlings in a Tweet on his official handle he wonders why Menzgold is refusing to respond to what he described as silly list making rounds on social media adding that he does not have such an amount to waste on questionable ventures.
He also doubted the names of other persons on the list and if they would allow themselves be involved in what he termed a mess.
“Shouldn’t Menzgold be reacting to this silly list making the rounds on social media? I do not have a stash anywhere to waste on questionable ventures and doubt others on the list involved themselves in this mess”, he tweeted.
MyNews sighted different lists from different groups of persons depending on their political persuasions claiming they are those whose investments have been locked up in Menzgold.
Among the first list that was posted on the Instagram page of Kwame A-Plus included actresses Yvonne Nelson and Tracey Boakye. Jackie Appiah, Sarkodie Tracey Boakye, Kumi Guitar and popular radio personality, Abeiku Sanatana.
Others in the political landscape include; Samson Ahe ,Prof. Joshua Alabi, Allotey Jacobs, Inusah Fuseini, Anita Desoso, Efo Koku Anyidoho, Solomon Nkansah, Ekow S. Garbrah, Sylvester Mensah, Ex. Pres. Jeremiah Rawlings, Abraham Amaliba (Esq), Jonshon Asiedu Nketia and Dr. Baffour Awuah.
The rest are President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr Bawumia, John Dramani Mahama, Osarfo Marfo and many others which is making a mockery of the different lists as being observed by this portal.
