Award-winning Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has said the blame for the Menzgoldscam should be laid at the doorstep of celebrities and politicians who didn’t ask questions about Menzgold but simply allowed themselves to be used by NAM 1, MyNews has filed.
Ms Forson is also warning the Ghanaian public to desist from attacking the customers of Menzgold for being greedy because according to her, the desire to invest with Menzgold was born out of the endorsement the business got from celebrities, MyNews reports.
“The company (Menzgold) was endorsed by high profile celebrities, the CEO rubbed shoulders with some of the most important people, including politicians in the country. Did any of these people have suspicions about the company? I’m sure they did.” Ms Forson wrote.
Some of the celebrities who endorsed NAM 1 and his businesses include Kumi Guitar, James Gardiner, Joselyn Dumas, Okyeame Kwame, Sarkodie, Jackie Appiah, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Becca, among others. NAM 1 also ‘frolicked’ with President Akufo-Addo, the Otumfuo, Chief Imam and other important leaders in the country.
Some of the people who invested with Menzgold say these endorsements convinced them about NAM 1’s genuineness.
“There are so many stories surrounding this issue that I wouldn’t even know where to begin; however I’ve seen so many people blame the victims of this investment for being greedy and not heeding to BoG’s warnings, and that’s what I want to address.” she began.
“Here’s the thing, Menzgold ran a pretty good media campaign. The company was endorsed by high profile celebrities, the CEO rubbed shoulders with some of the most important people, including politicians in the country. Did any of these people have suspicions about the company? I’m sure they did.” Lydia Forson wrote.
