Ghana’s Black Queens landed in Nairobi on Sunday for their second pre- 2018 Total AWCON friendly against the Harambee Starlets.
The match will be played on Wednesday at the MISC Kasarani and it will afford the two teams a chance to test their readiness ahead of the tournament which starts on November 17.
The Queens will hope to right the wrongs of their 3-2 loss to Zambia from Saturday and head coach, Bashir Hayford, is very grateful for the chance to play another international friendly.
“We opted to play Kenya because of our good working relationship and also because they will be taking part in the AWCON tournament like we will,” he said in an interview with Football Kenya shortly after arriving in Nairobi.
“This friendly match will be good for us to not only gauge the standard of Women football in East Africa but to also get in good shape for the tournament.”
After the match against Kenya, the Queens will take on South Africa in Accra on November 11.
