Goosie Tanoh, an aspiring Presidential Candidate for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized the party over the reported vote-buying at the just ended Women and Youth Conference held at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.
Goosie Tanoh explained that this trend is gradually taking over the political landscape of the country and must be condemned.
He added that this character displayed by the NDC is synonymous with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), adding that they are the ones who have carved a niche for themselves when it comes to vote-buying.
“The New Patriotic Party are the ones noted for vote buying but not National Democratic Congress,” Goosie Tanoh explained.
Mr.Tanoh made these remarks during his tour of the Central Region on Monday where he met party executives at Awutu Bereku in the Awutu Senya West Constituency.
Speaking to Citi News in an interview, Mr. Goosie Tanoh indicated that when vote buying becomes the order of the day it makes it difficult to get the right people to take up leadership positions.
He also condemned the act by the opposition National Democratic(NDC) Congress saying that they should bow their head in shame for engaging in such activities.
“Things like Electronic Fans, Flat screens Television, Mobile Phones and Gas Cookers were used to influence the vote of delegates,” he added.
According to him, the branches of the National Democratic Congress are the ones going to elect the presidential candidate and as such must be enlightened to make the right choice.
He also criticized Politicians for the inflation of contract sums among others which comes as a huge loss to the state.
Mr.Tanoh hinted that if the NDC grassroots embark on a clean campaign devoid of vote buying among others, it will attract others to join the party.
He was however optimistic that with the current state of the country, the NDC is certain for victory 2020 with him.
