In Ghana, the systems and structures have made music which is supposed to be a viable venture be a sad career choice for some people.
Yesterday, there were reports that the Ghana Music Rights Organization was going to pay artistes some monies as their royalties.
The information brought joy to some music enthusiasts who thought the monies were going to be something they could at least record new songs with.
However, a snapshot of the amount sent to one musician has confirmed the sorry state of the music industry in Ghana.
An artiste, Shatta Molley was paid GhC98.7
In sharing the snapshot, the artiste advised young artistes in Ghana to reconsider their decisions if they intend choosing a career in music in Ghana.
