George Boateng, the former Oyarifa Branch Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a former presidential hopeful of the party is opposed to the comeback of former President John Dramani Mahama as leader of the party
George Boateng, who wanted to give then-President John Mahama a run for his money during the party’s presidential primaries in 2015, has, therefore, vowed to do everything practically possible to ensure the latter fails to lead the party again in the next general elections.
“Will Mahama lead NDC again? …over my dead body”, Mr. George Boateng declared in an interview monitored by us on Kumasi-based Otec FM morning show.
According to him, the NDC will only prepare for another disgraceful defeat in the 2020 elections should they impose ex-president John Manama on the party as flagbearer.
Mr George Boateng, therefore, described the former President as an outcast who has nothing good to offer for NDC as a party and Ghana at large.
He also observed that Mr. John Mahama lacks concrete policies that could move the country forward therefore if he gets the nod for 2020, President Akuffo Addo’s leadership will place the New Patriotic Party (NPP) miles ahead of the NDC in the 2020 polls.
Declaring his intentions to contest again in NDC’s presidential primaries on Otec Fm’s morning show, Nyansapo, Mr. George Boateng said he is coming back this time with a pragmatic campaign tactics that would see him through as the flagbearer of the party for the 2020 general elections.
George Baoteng who was disqualified by the NDC party in the build-up to the 2015 NDC primaries reiterated Ghana under President Mahama was in the hands of greedy few who milked the country to the brim.
